Vicar's
Message (Mar 2010)
Dearly beloved in Christ,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The last month, we experienced God's faithfulness through
different ways. God is our strength and shield. Again, let
us put trust in Him and dedicate for His glory. We enter
into a new month; let us travel with our God into the
unknown days. February 7th, the church separates as the
Medical Mission Sunday. Church is called as a healing
community in a unhealed world. The welfare of all creations
is the motto of the Church. Healing means the wellbeing and
wholeness of the community. To make peace and harmony in the
world is the mission of the church. We are the co- workers
of God to bring out peace and harmony in this world by
loving, caring, healing etc. We are the custodians of the
universe; to sustain good atmosphere, to nurture our health,
mind and soul. Preservation of our nature should be our
emphasis of the mission of the church.
Our Church arranges to have the Mandalam Meeting on Feb.
11th and 12th. Let us pray to God to fulfill His will
through the Mandalam agenda and may helpful to expand the
horizons of the mission of the church in the coming years.
Feb.14th - 21st, Church organize the Maramon Convention. It
is a great time to gather at Maramon for prayer, devotion,
study the Bible, renew the relationships, and make new
consciousness about the mission of the church. May this time
the church should be submissive in the hands of God for the
expansion of the Gospel. These days, we have to remember our
Bishops, the preachers and those who give leadership for the
smooth running of the Maramon convention.
I want to draw your attention to the World Day of Prayer.
The World Day of prayer is a world wide ecumenical movement
of women from many faith traditions, who come together to
observe a common day of prayer each year. We join as men and
women in more than 170 countries around the world. This year
marks as its 83rd anniversary of the WDP. Through this
service, we are enriched by the faith experience of
Christians of other countries and cultures. Moreover, we
learn to take the burdens of other people and pray with and
for them. The 2010 WDP focuses on the issues facing the
children and women of Cameron, Africa. The women of Cameron
wrote this year's order of worship. The theme is based on
Psalm 150:6 ' Let everything that has breathe praise the
Lord'. The worship service is on March 6th, 2010 will uplift
our spirits through prayers, music and visual presentations.
The children and the youth will be presenting songs during
this service. Our sister churches will be the participants
for the blessing of this program, which will give us a good
time to establish renew our relationship with our sister
churches. It will be a great spiritual gathering and time of
fellowship its beyond a time to give Glory to our God. We
have to find out the opportunities and possibilities to work
together and to find out the sources and channelize for the
extension of the Kingdom of God. One of my major concerns is
that as Christians, the living and working together culture
should be strengthened in our area to reach out God's love
and service to the unreached areas of human lives. This
year's offertory collection will be utilized for the
upliftment of the women and children of Cameron. I request
everybody's presence and prayer.
