Our Lord Jesus Christ has been so gracious to bless the Savika Sangham spiritually in the year of 2007. The following committee members for 2007 were elected during the general body meeting on November 26, 2006.

During the year, the Savika Sangham meetings were conducted regularly on every first Saturday in the members’ houses and every second Sunday after the worship service in the church. These monthly meetings involved singing songs, bible reading, intercessory prayer, bible study, and fellowship.

The World Day of Prayer was celebrated on Sunday March 4, 2007. Rev. Johnson Philip from St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church in Chicago led the worship service, and our Sevika Sangham members assisted the service. This year’s theme was “United under God’s Tent” and the worship booklets were focused on the women in Paraguay.

As a church, September 8th was observed as Sevika Sangham Day. The Sevika Sangham members assisted during the service. Mrs. Saramma Kochamma gave the sermon. Two members attended the 8th National Sevika Sangham Conference, which was held in Long Island Mar Thoma Church from September 20-23, 2007. General body meeting was held on December 9th, 2007 and the office bearers for the year 2008 were elected.

On behalf of the Detroit Mar Thoma Sevika Sangham, I express our sincere gratitude to our president and vicar Rev. K.T. Abraham and Rev. Shaji K. Thomas for their leadership and guidance throughout the year. Special thanks to Rev. P Chacko, Rev. Philip Varghese, Rev. M.P. Yohannan and Mr. Cherian Kurian for their continuous leadership and spiritual support. Our thanks go to each and every member of the church for their prayers, and support toward the Sevika Sangham activities. I pray that we continue to keep our focus on serving the Lord and strengthening our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ in the coming years.
