Teachers dedication and Vijaydhina Sthothram, World Sunday School
Day
Teachers dedicated themselves to Jesus Christ along with the
children thanking God for being with them in the past school year
and to ask HIS blessings for the new year on August 26, 2007. The
children participated in the offertory collection for the World
Sunday School Day raising about $600.
Vacation Bible School
VBS was held from June 18 – 24, 2007. This years VBS director was
Susan Cherian. We continued with a character studies focusing on
Jesus Christ and Salvation which is shown throughout the Bible.
Hence the theme “The Race is ON”. Special thanks to Jocelyn George,
Tessy Samuel and Shane Thomas for leading songs. Sunday School
especially thanks Shane Thomas and Shine Eapen, for playing the
piano and drums, respectively. Ejie Mathews prepared the children
for the final day program. The kids enjoyed the arts and crafts with
hard work by Sheila Verghese. The older kids had intense discussions
led by Bijo Cheriyan. The church congregation as usual supported all
of the programs by either assisting with the food arrangements
and/or by personal donations. Thanks to the parent’s personal
donations, 100% of VBS expenses for 2007 were met.
Christmas Program
The Christmas program celebrations were held on December 22, 2007.
Beautiful songs were presented by both the English & Malayalam
Choirs at the Christmas Carol Service and the Musical Nativity Skit
by our children and youths was the highlight of the service.
Students of all ages actively participated in the nativity program
initiated by Ejie Mathews and directed by Sarasu David along with
help from several teachers. It was a musical titled “The First
Noel”. Again thanks goes to all the children and parents for their
active participation.
Miscellaneous
An initiative by the church in acquiring dividers for the Sunday
School was launched through Shawn Thomas. Through his persistence
Sunday School would soon be the beneficiary of dividers which would
result in at least four classrooms with some sense of distractions
being minimized. We look forward to the remainder of the dividers
being acquired. Also we want to thank Mr. C. V. Samuel for his
faithful management of the accounts for several years in a row.
New Teachers
We graciously welcome Mr. Shine Eapen, Ms. Anne John, Mr. Biju
Mathew and Mr. Mathew Philip who were appointed as teachers to 1st,
4th 5th, and 6th grades respectively.
Conclusion
Our appreciation goes to Rev Shaji K Thomas for his direction in all
the activities, the parents for their active participation and all
the congregation for their prayers and support. We continue to thank
the teachers for their tireless commitment and dedication. May we be
enabled to lead every child to Our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ. On
a personal note, I want to thank all the office bearers for their
role in supporting the Superintendents office and take this time to
welcome the new Superintendent Mr. Thomson David
